I read about this book which my English teacher gave me to read on the March Holidays, but I haven't read finish yet. It's about a girl called 'Joan' who came from China,Ohio, came to America to study. One night, she told her younger sister, Emily, the Star Fisher story. The story is about a women, who was a bird in disguise, was forced to marry a farmer because he took her precious cloak which she needs to wear it to be a Star Fisher. So she agreed on marrying him. The Star Fisher danced and sang songs for him since she married him. But the farmer still refuses to return the cloak. Soon, the Star Fisher gave birth to a girl. Sometimes, the village would occasionally two birds singing sweet, lovely melodies at night. The Star Fisher's sisters started calling to return to them up in the sky. But without the cloak, the star fisher was unable to go back and the farmer refuses to give her up. Then one evening, the star fisher's sisters started singing a sad tune. The infant daughter tottered outside the courtyard to listen. Lifting her head, she began to sing with them. Just then, the farmer hurried outsideto quiet her,but she had already stopped to stare up a golden feather drifting down. Laughing, she stretched one pudgyhand up for the shiny feather; but she missed it, and instead it landedon her sleeve, where it instantly turned into a pot of blood. The girl was so frightened that she started screaming. Then the farmer took the frightened girl into the house, where his wife stood by the doorway. When she saw the spot, her sisters had marked the child as the Star Fisher.

The Star Fisher
Finally, the new Star Fisher's mom found the cloak and went back up the sky with her daughter. Free at last. Interesting, huh? I kinda liked it though.
